Apparel manufacturing

Apparel manufacturing is a garment manufacturing.The apparel sector involves 4 levels. They are mill level,apparel manufacturing level,retail level,consumer level.

Apparel sector is classified in to 3 types.woven,non-woven,knitted fabric.to manufacture a garment the industry has to undergo various process.

these are the stages included for the production of a garment.

fibres

fibres are known as a building block of a textiles.the fibres are classified in to natural fibres and man made fibres.

natural fibres are cotton,silk,wool and linen.man made fibres are rayon,polyester,nylon and polypropylene.

so,these fibres are undergone some process to make a yarn.In these natural fibres have to be cared more than the MMF.

yarns

yarns are used for knitting,weaving,braiding,knotting,lace making etc….clock wise winded yarn is in “S” shape and anti-clockwise yarn is “Z” shape.The weight of the yarn can be calculated using direct or indirect meathod.

woven fabric

The fabric is woven using warp(vertical yarn),weft(horizontal yarn).This warp and weft yarn can be weaved using different meathods.They are

plain weave:

This is the simplest meathod of weaving.

twill weave:

In this the yarns are weaved diagonally.Eg: denim.

sateen and satin:

In this satin is the top weave and sateen is the bottom weave.
